Performance by:
•         Members of Seattle Symphony
Founded in 1903, the Seattle Symphony is one of the oldest and largest cultural institutions in the Pacific Northwest. Under the direction of Music Director Gerard Schwarz, the Symphony is recognized for its adventurous programming and tradition of performing music by contemporary composers. The Symphony has recorded more than 100 compact discs, and its recordings have received 11 Grammy Award nominations. From September through July each year, the Orchestra is heard live in Benaroya Hall, as well as throughout the community, by more than 315,000 people. In both 2007 and 2008, Seattle Symphony won Emmy Awards for its first two self-produced television specials, Seattle Symphony From Benaroya Hall, and Seattle Symphony From Benaroya Hall: Brahms, Kernis and Kodály.

•          Lion Dance led by Master David Leong
Master David Leong has been a devoted practitioner of the tranditional Shaolin Hung Kuen style Kung Fu and a teacher of the art on lion dancing for over 20 years.  He contribute his time and effort to many community events, as well as having been our Gala's Lion Dance Director since 2007.

Hong Kong has long been a staunch support of free trade. At the beginning of 2010, Hong Kong was ranked by the Washington DC-based Heritage Foundation as the freest economy in the world for the 16th consecutive year. In this business luncheon, Mr. Donald Tong will update the Seattle audience on Hong Kong’s latest development. He will also share with the audience on the Hong Kong Government’s latest initiatives to develop the City into a wine trading and distribution hub in Asia, which include the elimination of wine duty in February 2008, as well as other supportive measures such as facilitating the movement of wine into the Mainland China.

The bi-monthly dinner was hosted at Top Gun Seafood Restaurant of Bellevue. Light conversation and good food led the evening into an informative presentation on Dental Healthcare with guest speaker, Dr. Daniel C.N. Chan, Assistant Dean at the University of Washington Dental School. Dr. Chan educated the dinner guests on the types of services offered by the UW Dental School including primary dental care.

Dr. Chan also shared basic information on teeth health with the guests, ending the evening with an insightful view on the overall spectrum of dental healthcare.

Ms. Son promoted the 10th annual Hong Kong Forum, focusing on the panel discussions, business networking opportunities and workshops offered during the forum.

Attending this Hong Kong Forum will be leaders of businesses all around the world, representing over 30 countries. The Hong Kong Forum will be hosted in Hong Kong, from December 1st and 2nd, 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
